The webinar The Picky Eater at Home is presented by Alicia Hart, parent of both a picky and problem eater.
|
| Description: |
The Picky Eating Child at Home webinar will focus on living with and feeding the picky eating child (whether typically developing or special needs). As a parent of three children, my experience with picky eating has run the gamut from food jags to serious feeding aversion. I have a child with autism spectrum disorder who also has eosinophilic esophagitis with feeding aversion, as well as, a typically developing picky eater. Will cover topics including typical development, special needs children, red flags, common medical problems, food allergies, referrals, treatment methodologies, food education in the home, and fun activities to encourage healthier and broader food choices.

Journey Through the Autistic Mind Part I recorded webinar.
|
| Description: |
This workshop delves into the mind of the autistic child. Rather than providing a ‘tool’ or ‘strategy’ to working with autistic children, this workshop seeks to challenge the way you think about autism. Through increased understanding and new perspectives, participants will be better able to implement and problem-solve through difficult situations. We will cover major theories and research into the genetics of autism, prevalence and incidence, executive dysfunction, difficulties with self-regulation, amygdala differences, mirror neurons, synaptic ‘pruning’ differences, and difficulties with facial processing. Understanding the depth and breadth of the disorder is key to helping those with autism. Throughout the workshop we will not only discuss current theories and research into the mind of the autistic, but seek to experience the world from their perspective.
