Introducing Mobile Devices and Selecting Mobile Apps for Your K-5 Learners
Presented by Liz Kolb, Clinical Assistant Professor, University of Michigan

While it is tempting to immediately hand students iPads, cell phones, Nooks or other mobile devices, it is vital that children are properly introduced to these devices before ever touching them.  In our community’s next webinar, Liz Kolb will cover strategies for introducing mobile devices to both preK-2 and upper elementary students.  We will cover management and safety matters for introducing and using the devices for a 1:1 or “centers” approach.

Additionally, both novice and expert teachers tend to struggle with locating effective apps and websites to enhance the learning goals in their classrooms.  We’ll devote the second part of this session to strategies for effectively locating apps and websites for mobile devices and we’ll include how to evaluate these resources to make that sure that they are meeting the needs of your learners.  Join us on July 21st to learn new strategies for introducing mobile devices as well as a framework for selecting and finding appropriate apps for your classroom needs.
