Implementing Digital Citizenship District-wide
Presented by Greg Whiteman, Director of Technology Integration, Kent School District in Kent, WA;
with Laurie Kirkland, One-to-One Program Specialist, Kent School District in Kent, WA

How can a school district educate each and every student to be a safe, responsible, respectful digital citizen? In our community’s next webinar, see how Kent School District in Kent, Washington is teaching 28,000 students digital citizenship skills every year. Greg Whiteman and Laurie Kirkland will share how Kent created and implemented its own digital citizenship scope and sequence for grades 1-12, training teachers at all grade levels and having them teach digital citizenship across content areas. Also find out how Kent has educated and engaged parents, including details about their yearly tech expo. You will hear the entire journey of this program, from its launch in 2011 right through 2014 when Kent was the first district to be certified in digital citizenship by Common Sense for their large-scale work on integrating digital citizenship. Join us on March 24th to learn how to help your district integrate digital citizenship and create a positive school climate around media and technology.
